Took a chance on a couple "swiss" vintage Henri Sandoz from INDIA. At $15 each it was worth it just to see what they were I'd heard of some scams, but I liked the dials. Came this morning and they are indeed 17J old handwinds stamped Swiss on the movements. After an hour they do seem to keep time. 35mm.

Dunno why they always gets a bad rep, I'm aware they are refinished but most of them are less than $20 and not bad looking. That sounds like a great bargain to me!

Good value. Most of the Sandoz watch which found their way to India had a Seagul ST96 hand wound movement. The company split into 3 separate makers in 71 . One in HK one in Switzerland and one in Spain. The HK made watches had the ST 96, great movement. In the 70s in India and HK they would stamp anything they want on a movement. AKA the ST5 based on the FHF ST96 18000 BPH Later incarnations ran at 21600 BPH.
